The City of Newburyport is fundamentally defined by its relation to the Merrimack River waterfront. A long-term City goal is to connect the existing Peter J. Matthews Boardwalk and Market Landing Park at the central waterfront with Cashman Park to the west and Joppa Park to the east.
The decking and railing are made entirely from Naturally Durable™ FSC certified purpleheart lumber. Purpleheart is very rot resistant and stable in service and available for substantially less cost than FSC ipe and FSC cumaru, the correct choice for the technical requirements and budgetary restraints of the project.
