White Noise White Light is an interactive sound and light installation commissioned for the Athens 2004 Olympics. The installation consists of a field of fiber optic lights and speakers which respond to pedestrian movement by emitting a pulsing rhythm of white light and white noise when activated, forming a luminous space of sonic refuge in the city. The contractor moved equipment into the Vesuvius area in August 2001. During the time Lake Vesuvius was drained much of the 143-acre recreation area of the Wayne National Forest had been closed to allow for improvements to the dam and boat ramp that included constructing a boardwalk and fishing pier. The Strawberry Mansion Bridge – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The Strawberry Mansion Bridge spans the Schuylkill River. Built more than a century ago to accommodate trolley traffic, it fell into decline when the trolley tracks were removed after WWII. Completely renovated from 1998 to 2000, it now serves light vehicular traffic and provides two pedestrian and equestrian esplanades where the old trolley tracks used to be.
